President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cut the sod for the commencement of the construction of the Operational Headquarters of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) in Takoradi.
The seven-storey building operational headquarters of the corporation which has 300 office spaces including gymnasium, cafeteria and business centre on the ground floor is expected to be completed within two years at a cost of 25 million dollars.
The office complex will also be designed with solar ingress and wind direction.
Upon completion, the facility will acquire LEED certification which will measure building standards to assess compliance with the all-in-one address of energy efficiency, water conversation, site solution, material selection, day lighting and waste reduction.
Before the sod cutting, the president commissioned an Ultra-modern office complex and hostel facility for the Western Regional House of Chiefs at Sekondi.
The construction of the facility was funded and furnished by GNPC Foundation.
The President Akufo-Addo addressing the gathering in a ceremony to cut the sod for the construction of the operational headquarters of the GNPC indicated that the facility consists of office spaces doe a 300-seater auditorium, gymnasium, cafeteria and business centre at the ground floor.
He stressed that the upper floor of the building will also provide office space for prospective tenants.
The Board Chairman of the GNPC, Freddie Blay on a speech highlighted on some projects the Corporation through its Foundation has embarked to impact lives and society.
