NPP is set to face NDC in court over election petition

The Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu hinted that the ruling New Patriotic Party is prepared to face the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) in court as it files its election 2020 petition on Wednesday.

He reiterated that the NPP is well prepared to battle out all electoral differences with the NDC in court with all their legitimate evidence to address all the concerns raised by the opposition party with regards to the December 7, elections.

“As the lawyer [Kofi Abotsi] rightfully said, you need a primary document so if they [NDC] have that, let them go to court…why are they going to worry the Electoral Commission?…we have ours [documents] and we will meet them in court,” he said.

The NDC has declared its decision to contest both Presidential and Parliamentary results of the 2020 election at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, Decembe 30, 2020.

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, a member of the NDC legal team, who made this known on Newsfile, refuted the claims that the NDC is more focused on the Parliamentary elections than the Presidential.
