Mahama Takes Campaign Tour To Western Region

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama will from Monday, October 19, 2020, begin a five-day campaign tour of the Western Region.

Highlighting on the itinerary of the flagbearer, the Western Regional Communication Officer of the NDC, Richard Kirk Mensah told that the five-day campaign tour will enable the former president Mahama visit all the 17 constituencies in the region.

He said the flagbearer will address the chiefs and people in all the 17 constituencies as well as interact with cocoa farmers, small-scale miners, fishermen, fishmongers, traders, transporters, market women, Zongo groups, teachers other professional groups and also embark on his traditional door-door campaign.

Mr. Mahama’s speeches would be focussed on job creation, his plan to roll out free primary healthcare up to the level of district hospitals as well as plans in the NDC’s manifesto to provide opportunities and employable skills for the youth through state-sponsored National Apprenticeship Programme and Free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (T-VET).

“He is expected to start his campaign with a mini durbar of chiefs and people of Agona-Amenfi, then to Kweku Boah community all in the Amenfi Central constituency and end the five-day tour in the Shama District.”

The former President’s tour to the Western Region follows his five-day tour to the Central Region which ended yesterday.

While in the Central Region, Mahama interacted with traditional authorities, religious leaders, stakeholder groupings including fishermen, fishmongers, canoe owners, small-scale miners among others.
