The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has given an extensive breakdown of how it is disbursing the Covid-19 Relief Funds received from FIFA as well as CAF in the midst of the pandemic.
With the Ghana FA one of many football associations feeling the impact of the Covid-19 crisis, the body is benefiting from a combined sum of $1.8 million dollars from both the World Football governing body and the Continent’s governing body.
At an Executive Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, the GFA agreed on how to disburse the received Covid-19 relief funds as per the attached document in compliance with the provisions of the FIFA Operational Model and Governance Structure.
In the plan which is available with Modernghana Sports, clubs from the various leagues, the national teams, Beach Soccer, Futsal, as well as other bodies will receive money to mitigate the financial challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Just to touch on a few, clubs in the Ghana Premier League are expected to receive $15,000 each, clubs in the Division One League will get $7,500 per club with the Women’s Premier League Clubs set to pocket $10,000 each.
