Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, Commodore Sam Walker has paid a courtesy call on the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah to officially introduce himself to him since he assumed office as the commander of Western Naval Command.
Commodore Sam Walker took over the position from the immediate commander, Commodore Emmanuel Kwafoo who has gone on retirement.
Mr. Okyere Darko-Mensah in a his address welcomed commodore Sam Walker and applauded him for his new position.
He said, that the new navy boss deserve the position because he is an experienced and long serving navy who has sacrificed and dedicated all his duty serving mother Ghana selflessly.
“As the Chairman of the Western Regional Security Council, I am delighted to have such an experienced officer as the Commander of the Western Naval Command whom I am very confident would work with me to sustain the security successes we have chalked on the territorial waters over the years in the region”, Mr. Okyere Darko-Mensah posited.
He assured the new naval boss of his preparedness to have a close working ties with him to inure to the benefit of the western region.
To this end, the Western Regional Minister reiterated on the call to always work towards ensuring peace, safety and promotion of dignity in the region.
Commodore Sam Walker on his part thanked the regional minister for the good reception and pledged his commitment to work to promote and maintain the peace and stability in the region.
