Communication Service Tax reduced from 9% to 5% – Ken Ofori Atta

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, has announced a reduction in the Communication Service Tax (CST).

The Communication Service Tax (CST) has been reduced from 9% to 5%.

According to Ken Ofori Atta this reduction is to allow to enable more people work remotely and utilize online services.

“In the short term, we will reduce the CST from 9% to 5% to reduce the cost of communication services to the consumer as more and more people work remotely and utilize online services.

He called on telcos to also match this reduction in the CST by reducing their tariffs.
