CAF announces new dates for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers

CAF on Wednesday announced new dates for the final FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The qualifiers were due to be played in May but were cancelled after COVID-19 outbreak disrupted continental football calendar.

The new dates will see the first leg games take place between October 30 and November 1 and the reverse fixtures will be played between November 19 and November 21.

Six nations were still in contention for Africa’s three slots with Uganda set to battle it out against Cameroon, Ghana will take on neighbours Nigeria as South Africa lock horns with Morocco.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup was initially pencilled to be staged in India in November this but has been pushed to February next year.
